Come Around Sundown by Kings of Leon (RCA Records, 2010)
genre: Alternative
age: 10 years +
review: Kings of Leon is a huge band that encompasses about 11 members, four of which are the Followill brothers. The brothers grew up all over the South, which would explain their southern sounds mixed with their laid back, yet rockin’ style. The newest album, Come Around Sundown, is the fifth effort from the band and shows the variety in their skills with songs tinged with gospel, punk and home-grown Tennessee sound of country.
opinion: KOL got me with their Sex On Fire from the previous album, Only by the Night. This CD goes a bit further to show their many influences and wide range of talent. Again, KOL pulled me in with just one song, Pyro. And I haven’t disappointed.
favorite: Pryo and Beach Side
ideas: KOL are all over the radio, so there will be no selling it—they did it themselves.
