review: Lightning McQueen is back… but as only a shadow to the real star of the movie: Mater, Tow Mater. The race car is invited to race in an international grand prix, while the tow-truck is caught in a web of international intrigue.
opinion: All of the characters are back from the orginial, with the exception of Paul Newman (Doc Hudson) and George Carlin (Fillmore). The film introduces new characters to set the stage for espionage with the likes of Finn McMissile, Holley Shiftwell and Francesco Bernoulli. There is a lot more “blow ‘em up” action, typical of a James Bond movie, but the story is really about Lightning McQueen and Mater’s friendship shift as Mater sees that people think he’s kind of a joke and that his buddy is sometimes embarrassed by him.
ideas: This is a fun movie to stretch the imagination—talking cars!? Most kids of all ages will like this movie, and with a G rating it’s safe to recommend to anyone.
